Perak-born Lewre Lew Fong Voon started in shoe sales, gradually moving into shoe-making. As his passion grew, he set up a shoe company, Roondy Sdn. Bhd., garnering attention from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and MATRADE. With their help, his work was displayed in Europe, capturing the attention of Dato’ Jimmy Choo, who invited Lewre to participate in the London Fashion Week. His shoes fast became sought-after and in 1997, he launched the brand Lewré. He has since worked with local and international designers and received the ISO 9001: 2000 certification in recognition of the international standards and quality of his shoes. He became the President of the Branding Association of Malaysia in 2006.
