Armed with a degree in Psychology from England, Yasmin is now in advertising, an industry she has been in for the last 25 years. During those years, she wrote scripts and directed TV commercials, winning her prizes both at home and abroad. Yasmin later used her newfound skills to make feature films and one documentary: Rabun (2002), Sepet (2004), Gubra (2005), Voices at the Bottom of the Pyramid (2005) and Mukhsin (2006). These films won awards from film festivals locally and globally: Tokyo, Creteil, San Francisco and Rotterdam. Besides being nominated for ¡®Best Asian Film¡¯ in Tokyo, Mukhsin won the Grand Prize of the International Jury, Generation section and the Special Mention, Crystal Bear in Berlin.
