Yang Wei Han

An all-rounder artist, Yang Wei Han is a well-known singer and a multiple-award winning song composer and TV host.
 
Wei Han holds a Bachelor in Landscape Architecture from the University of Technology Malaysia. He became a recording artiste in 1997 with his debut album entitled Loving you Is Actually Perilous (1997), Chinese Song Legend Yao Min (2003), Xing Fu Xing Le (2004). Instantly, Wei Han has proven himself as an incredibly talented singer and songwriter, with a list of awards garnered including Nan Yang Top Ten Best Newcomer Award (1997), Nan Yang Top Ten Award (1998-2006), Nan Yang Top Ten Best Performer (2003), PWHWP Top Ten Songs Award (1998-2002), PWHWP The Best Arrangement Award (2002) and The Best Media Awards, Chinese AIM The Best Song Arrangement and The Song Of The Year (2001, 2002).

Winning these awards is not Wei Han’s peak of success yet, he was also actively involved in various musical productions. In 1999, Wei Han played the lead role Prince Siddhartha and Buddha in the Siddhartha The Musical. The musical received tremendous response from the audience locally (1999 & 2002) so much so that the musical was brought to “live” again in Singapore (2000), Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, South Africa (2002), and Jakarta, Indonesia (2007). Unleashing his potential in musical performance once again, Wei Han played the lead role as Mr. Lee Shu Tong in Above Full Moon Musical (2004,2005 in Malaysia, 2004 in Singapore, 2007 in China) and another musical The Perfect Circle (2005-2007). Wei Han’s outstanding performance in the musicals has helped to put Malaysia in the spotlight. Besides that, Wei Han also hosted “Shi Shi Chui Zhong” (NTV7,2000), The Chair (NTV7, 2002) and CGM (Astro, 2003, 2005 to 2007).
 
Despite his huge achievement, Wei Han remains humble and appreciative. Indeed, this Pensonic brand ambassador (2005-2007) resembles Pensonic in every ways possible.

Steve Yap

He is a model artist who is not only renowned for his charm, but also his enthusiasm, professionalism and his generosity in imparting his knowledge to newcomers in the industry via various modeling competition.
 
Born in 1972, Steve Yap first made his foray into modeling. Being a versatile model, he also doubles as talent and actor. What has helped to propel his career is that the TV commercials and print advertisements that Steve was featured in have spanned over to China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
 
Amongst the brands involved are Carlsberg Beer, Winston, Spritzer Mineral Water, AIA Life Assurance, RHB Bank, Celcom, Mutiara Telecom, Sparkmen Shop Fashion, Digi, Bank of China, Life Assurance, RenRen.com, Nokia, Dove Chocolate, Honda CRV, OCBC, Starhub, bridal house and Pensonic. Steve Yap is also a Pensonic Friend for consecutive 3 years since 2005, personifying a local player with enthusiasm and passion.
 
Steve has also proven himself as a talented actor by starring in a number of Chinese drama and TV series since 1998 to 2001, such as Double Happiness (Singapore), Love Circle (Malaysia), The Last Dance (Singapore), and The Possessed (Malaysia).
 
Steve’s most recent TV appearance is the Chinese drama presented by NTV7 and Singapore’s MediaCorp, named “Falling In Love”. He played a role as a knowledgeable and understanding advertising firm owner. The movie has successfully recorded the highest ever TVR for local Chinese drama.

Sharifah Amani

Amani (born 10 June 1986), or affectionately known as Nani, is the second in a family of four girls. With her mother, an experienced acting coach and media consultant, her photographer father and sisters who are also involved in film and television, undeniably she was nurtured with a solid acting foundation.
 
Amani, who is of Malay-Chinese-Arab-Bengali parentage, speaks fluent English, Malay and some Hindi which has helped to garner her career path in hosting. With her great passion in acting, Amani appeared as a child extra in movie “Selubung”, playing a Palestinian refugee.and also as a child extra in “Mimpi Moon”, both by Pesona Pictures movies.
 
As a teen writer for the NST’s YouthQuake, Amani covered assignments like the Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla press conference, concerts by Bollywood stars, Deep Purple and the 3rd IIFA awards on Genting Highlands in 2002. When she was in secondary school , Amani impressed everybody as she wrote, directed and acted in a Bollywood version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
 
Her hosting talent flourished with her vast exposure in co-hosting Techno-Kit, a television programme on TV2 and hosted one season of Astro Prima’s Salam Bollywood in 2004. She also hosted a special programme on the 3rd Boh Cameronian Arts Awards, 2005, for Astro Ria. Apart from that with her understanding of Hindi language, she also interviewed Indian actress Lillete Dubey (Monsoon Wedding) for a TV special. Amani was also a VJ for Channel 9’s late night entertainment programme – Latido, which she co-hosts with her sister Sharifah Aleya. In another ntv7 talk show - Selamba Serius, Amani co-hosted the show again with her sister Aleya.
 
Amani made her debut as a female lead in Yasmin Ahmad’s movie - Sepet, which won the Best Asean Feature Film award at the 9th Malaysian Video Awards, 2005. The movie won Best Film at the 18th Malaysian Film Festival, 2005. Sepet was premiered at the opening of the Mini Malaysian Film Festival in Singapore in September 2004. This movie has won numerous coveted awards, such as the Grand Jury Award at the Creteil International Festival of Women’s Films (France, 2005), The People’s Choice Awards at the 2005 Era Awards, and the Best Asian Film award at the 18th Tokyo International Film Festival (Japan, 2005). The movie was also shown at the 48th San Francisco International Film Festival and was an official selection at the Barcelona Asian Film Festival, 2005.
 
Following her huge success in the movie screen, she appeared again as Orked in Yasmin Ahmad’s third movie, Gubra, which was shot in August 2005. Not only that, Amani also starred in the fashionable and trendy movies Gol & Gincu, and other movies namely Puaka Tebing Biru, Cinta and played a cameo role in Yasmin Ahmad’s 4th movie, Mukhsin. Her outstanding acting performance as Orked in Sepet has won her the title “Most Promising Newcomer” at the 18th Malaysian Film Festival, 2005, and subsequently awarded the “Best Actress” for her role as Orked in Gubra at the 19th Malaysian Film Festival, 2006.
 
Amani is a highly motivated and versatile actress for film and stage, she acted as Ophelia in Actors Studio’s Hamlet, 2005 (directed by Faridah Merican) and also involved in Samuel Beckett’s EndGame at KLPAC, August 2006 (directed by Gavin Yap). Amani was also one of four judges for Nescafe Kickstart on TV3 (2005) and participated in Actorlympics 2005 at Actors Studio.
 
With Amani’s warm personality, pleasant look and gifted talent, she has been the brand ambassador for several brands, most significant among them are the famous home-grown household appliances brand PENSONIC and the new cosmetics line, Silkygirl (Silky White, Silky Lips and Silky Care), Silkygirl scent (named Sweetheart) and Sofy feminine towels. Amani also appeared in Maya, a Petronas TVC in 2005 and has been the cover girl for various magazines (Klue, Vida!, I-Remaja, Pengantin, E-Phone, Rapi, Jelita, Options and Remaja) and entertainment sections of newspapers.
 
Amani also sailed in the inaugural TAG Heuer Aquaracer Trophy event held in France (May 2005). The seven-men team from Malaysia came in 7th of 16 boats from around the world. Amani loves animals, make-up and clothes and also hopes to be a stand-up comedian one day. Being nominated the top 5 in two categories (Most Popular New Artiste and Most Popular Film Actress) in the 2006 Anugerah Bintang Popular (Berita Harian), Amani has surely began to solidify her commitment to film, stage and hosting.

Sean Lee

Graduated with qualifications of Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communication and Master of Arts in International Communication, Sean had his first stint as a Research Assistant and Media Planner in an international advertising firm, Bates Malaysia (formerly known as BSB) from 1988 to 1990. He then crossed over into radio broadcasting in 1991 where he was attached to Rediffusion Cable Network Malaysia as Research Executive, Operations Executive and Radio Disc Jockey
 
In 1995, Sean joined Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) as a radio broadcaster to present an Australian Pop Music program in Cantonese. It was broadcasted via the ABC’s international short-wave and satellite service to Asia, as well as on a number of FM radio stations in China. Thereafter, Sean was attached to 2ac Sydney Australian Chinese Radio as a Radio Disc Jockey. During his tenure, Sean had produced and presented programs that cover current affairs, entertainment and music on an average of twenty hours per week in Cantonese. Because of his fluency in various languages, Sean was also the master of ceremony for several events such as annual dinner, charity shows and festive events.
 
In 1999, Sean was offered to host an entertainment program that was aired in ntv7, named e-access. It was a Cantonese magazine-like program featuring the hottest news in both local and foreign entertainment industry. Following, Sean has also decided to wear a different hat as a full time lecturer in Mass Communication Theory/ Radio Journalism in LimKokWing University College of Creative Technology (LUCT). He was then invited to join the Radio Rediffusion Sdn Bhd force as a part-time Radio DJ, presenting radio shows over FM 98.8, spinning Chinese and English pop songs and oldies. Meanwhile, Sean also doubled as columnist for Fresh magazine (2000-2002). From 2002 to 2004, Sean joined NTV 7 again to host e-space, an entertainment program featuring the hottest news in both local and foreign entertainment industry. Sean is also the Group Brand Manager for Wafm 976 (a Chinese radio station), and is responsible for planning and implementation of marketing and programming strategies to bring the radio station to greater heights.
 
With over 19 years of experience in various arenas, Sean Lee has had an enviable mix of experience and knowledge of a wide variety of sectors. As an accomplished TV host, columnist, lecturer, DJ, TV host, MC and voice over artist, Sean Lee is surely a living proof that following dreams pays off – as long as one keep an open mind and willing to work hard.
