Steve Yap

He is a model artist who is not only renowned for his charm, but also his enthusiasm, professionalism and his generosity in imparting his knowledge to newcomers in the industry via various modeling competition.
 
Born in 1972, Steve Yap first made his foray into modeling. Being a versatile model, he also doubles as talent and actor. What has helped to propel his career is that the TV commercials and print advertisements that Steve was featured in have spanned over to China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
 
Amongst the brands involved are Carlsberg Beer, Winston, Spritzer Mineral Water, AIA Life Assurance, RHB Bank, Celcom, Mutiara Telecom, Sparkmen Shop Fashion, Digi, Bank of China, Life Assurance, RenRen.com, Nokia, Dove Chocolate, Honda CRV, OCBC, Starhub, bridal house and Pensonic. Steve Yap is also a Pensonic Friend for consecutive 3 years since 2005, personifying a local player with enthusiasm and passion.
 
Steve has also proven himself as a talented actor by starring in a number of Chinese drama and TV series since 1998 to 2001, such as Double Happiness (Singapore), Love Circle (Malaysia), The Last Dance (Singapore), and The Possessed (Malaysia).
 
Steve’s most recent TV appearance is the Chinese drama presented by NTV7 and Singapore’s MediaCorp, named “Falling In Love”. He played a role as a knowledgeable and understanding advertising firm owner. The movie has successfully recorded the highest ever TVR for local Chinese drama.

Dato Chef Ismail

Originated from a small Malay village in Negeri Sembilan, Chef Ismail was introduced to cooking by his grandmother, an avid food lover and cook. Chef Ismail discovered his passion in trying out the herbs and spices and fresh produce from orchards which were growing in abundance around him. Looking back, Chef Ismail recollects that helping his grandmother in kitchen has certainly helped to pave his career way in kitchen.
 
Creating scrumptious dishes that whet one’s appetite is Chef Ismail’s enthusiasm and passion. He treasures the traditional culinary recipes and has decided to leave his hometown to polish up his interest.
 
After pursuing Hotel Management and Catering qualification from Mara University of Technology, specializing in Chef Training, Chef ismail further expanded his skills with the Hilton International Kitchen Apprenticeship Programme for three years. Thereafter, Chef Ismail worked in the food industry and became a lecturer at Taylor’s College in Food technology and Kitchen Management for two years.

Chef Ismail was also the Chef in the industrial kitchen at KFC Holdings for seven years before becoming Executive Chef at Restoran Yasmin for a year. He then began his stint as a host for various programmes for local television. He derived much satisfaction and excitement from hosting programmes such as Aroma, Sri Murni and Kuih Raya on RTM1; Hey Good Cooking, Wok and Roll and Makan Tap Diet on RTM 2; Riang Ria Bersama Cornflakes and Jom masak Bersama Sri Murni on TV3 and Ala-Ala Kampung on Channel 4 Astro. Apart from that, he was also explored to host Yok Buat Kuih Raya! On Suria Channel, TV12, MediaCorp in Singapore.
 
Adding feather to his cap, Chef Ismail joined MATRADE on its tour to the United States of America, the Middle east and Europe to promote Malaysian food ad products. His involvement with the Ministry of Agriculture lies in the promotion of Malaysian fruits and food in Amsterdam. Chef Ismail also cooked Asian food at the Lady Jessy in cannes, South of France for two years, as well as for theatre artists at the Watermill Art Centre in South Hampton, New York for two years. With Tourism Malaysia, Chef Ismail also used to travel to Japan, South Africa, Cambodia and United Kingdom conducting cooking demonstrations to promote Malaysian cuisine.

Apart of his expertise in cooking, Chef Ismail is also well versed in food styling, recipe creation and was appointed as consultant to numerous new restaurants in town. Because of his expertise and understanding of food industry, Chef Ismail was also the spokesperson for a few food manufacturing companies. After his vast culinary experience and exposure over the years, finally his own reataurant - Restoran Rebung Chef Ismail was initiated. The food served in his restaurant is a tribute to the wonderful traditional recipes inherited from the forefathers. Chef Ismail vouches for the food and traditional origins, and the comforting taste of kampong fare from past memories. Honing his skill from his past experience, complemented by hef Ismail’s creativity in creating new cuisines, frequenters can definitely expect the wonderful, exotic traditional dishes.
 
Chef Ismail also ventured into recipe book production to document and to share his culinary experience in traditional Malay cuisine, ensuring that the invaluable national treasure will not diminish or forgotten over time. On top of that, Chef Ismail is also the brand ambassador of Pensonic since 2005, promoting intelligent household kitchen appliances that can help to make cooking a pleasurable experience.

Carrie Lee

Carrie Lee Sze Kei was fairly young when she had her first brush with fame. This lovable model used to be a tomboyish girl during her childhood has decided to have a change when she was at 19. Carrie made up her mind to embark into modeling, which has then led her into entering beauty pageants.
 
Carrie’s foray into beauty pageants has proven to be the right move when she was crowned the much-coveted title 2004 Miss Chinese Cosmos in China. Carrie currently carries titles as Miss Chinese Cosmos/Universe International Pageant 2004/05, as well as two subsidiary titles, Miss Photogenic and Miss Talent. Carrie previously held titles such as Miss Malaysia Tourism 2003, Miss Celcom Personality, Miss Emall Peace, and Miss Sogo Trendsetter.
 
Many were fooled by the appearance of this petite and slender artist model, not knowing that Carrie was actively involved in a variety of sports, namely handball, badminton, swimming, tennis, and soccer. In fact, this pint-size model was crowned as "sports woman" for 5 consecutive years during her primary and secondary schools (1997-2002).
 
With her triumph in beauty pageant (2004), Carrie’s fame burst like a comet but of course it wasn’t just a momentary flash of brightness. She has been seen in various commercials, namely Sony digital Camera (Hong Kong), Pepsi (Vietnam), Gardenia (Malaysia), Sting (Vietnam), Eversoft, 3D Gold (Hong Kong), Jurlique (Malaysia), Gillette Female (Malaysia), Fair and Lovely, bridal, fashion, designer wear and many more. She is also the Cover Girl for numerous magazines in China, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.
 
Carrie experienced her first stint in acting by starring in Music Video for the award-winning singer Nicholas Teo, followed by TV shows “Love Circle” and “Carrie Lee and Her Thank You Card”. She was later explored to host various events such as tourism programmes, Chinese New Year show, Christmas show, The History of Cheng He, Mines Lantern Festival 05, YTL’s interview and concert in Bath, United Kingdom.
 
Backed by her vast experience and knowledge in beauty pageant competition, Carrie was invited to be the judge panel for Miss Tourism International World Final 04/05, Miss Sogo Trendsetter 2004, Miss New Com 2004, Miss Icarworld Magazine 2004, Miss Malaysia Universe 2005, and Cosmos International Model 2005.
 
Besides her acting and beauty pageants obligations, Carrie is also an inspiring business woman. She runs an event management company called White Fairy Sdn Bhd which organizes the Miss Malaysia Chinese Cosmos pageant and recently, she just opened a boutique called White Fairy Lee.
 
Indeed, this warm and confident former beauty pageant has a lot more to offer, aside from her flawless beauty.

Amber Chia

Amber Chia, currently appearing in a number of international print ads for Guess watches, was selected by George Marciano himself to be co-winner in the international Guess Timeless Beauty competition.

Ever since she clinched the title at Basel, Switzerland, Amber has become one of the most sought-after models in Malaysia and the region. 2006 is a pivotal year for her with as she has not just graced countless magazine covers and sashayed on numerous international fashion runways but also moved on into acting.
 
POSSESSED is her second feature film after the critically acclaimed film, 3rd Generation. POSSESSED is a major breakthrough for Amber as she went through a transformation both physically and mentally to carry the role of the disturbed and emotionally charged leading lady. In contrast to her always immaculate look as a supermodel, she had to undergo hours of make-up daily to make her look ghastly and frightening for her “possessed” scenes. Amber also insisted on performing all her own stunts including the high tension wire stunts which caused her to suffer a number of injuries.

In POSSESSED, Amber plays a famous model that is possessed by her sister, Lisu who was brutally murdered.

Alan Yun

This charming, youthful “postman” made his first forays into Malaysian TV when he appeared in the TV commercial of Rejoice shampoo, which was awarded as one of the 10 most popular TV commercials in Singapore. The cute-looking, amiable model was talk-of-the-town ever since the commercial was aired in national TV.

Alan Yun is also a familiar face in various local advertisements, such as Celcom Chinese New Year advertisement, Kodak Film, Mc’Donald's, Clorets, and Peter Styversant. At the international level, he appeared in advertisements of Nescafe, Gillette, Volkswagon, Mizone mineral water, Nissan Teana, Fuji Film, Star Hub, Red Neck Beer, Smartone, Head and Shoulders Shampoo, Yeos and many more. For three consecutive years, Alan Yun is the brand ambassador for the renowned home-grown brand, Pensonic. Living up to Pensonic’s tagline, Alun Yun has been striving his best to bring enjoyment and happiness to his fans.
 
Born in 2 March 1978, Alan Yun started off his career as a model and his talent has then blossomed into singing and acting. Voted as the Malaysia Top 10 singer 1999/2000, his hit song “Flying With Rhythm” used to receive heavy airplay.
 
Apart from that, this versatile star has proven that acting is also his core expertise. Alan Yun played a cameo role in Yasmin Ahmad’s movie – Sepet (2004), which has won numerous coveted awards, and was shown at the 48th San Francisco International Film Festival. Thereafter, Alan’s acting skill was widely recognized and he was offered to star in Gubra (2006), a sequel to Sepet movie, another international award winning local film directed by Yasmin Ahmad. Besides, Alan Yun also appeared in the horror movie “Possessed”.
