About the Filmmakers Director: Bjarne Wong Bjarne pursued his education in Image Designing at Number One Art and Design Academy in Hong Kong. Bjarne started working with Stanley Tong’s Golden Gate Productions in 1989 where he participated as the Image and Art Designer for Stanley Tong’s “Stone Age Warrior” and later for Jackie Chan’s “Police Story III” and “Super Cop”. He then moved on to become Michelle Yeoh’s personal assistant and image designer for “Dragon Gate Inn”, “Three Eastern Heroines” and “Tai Chi”. He returned to Malaysia in 1995 and joined Scanvest Entertainment (Penang) Sdn Bhd, a recording company involved in production, image and publicity. He later joined TV3’s Layar Opera as an actor and Art Director in “Punishment”, “Guarding My Love”, “96 Police Cop” and “Twin Sister” for TV series. In 1999, he was with E-Move magazine as Promotions Manager and launched its pioneer debut in Malaysia. He made a comeback to Sarawak in 2000 with Hock Star Entertainment Industry Berhad to run and expand its Star Cineplex chain in Sarawak. In 2005, he made his directing debut for his movie “The Legend of the Red Curse” which is Sarawak’s first feature film. Producer: Sam Wong Sam Wong entered the industry in 1981 when he participated in Tsui Hark’s “The Legend of Zu”. He then worked closely with a number of famous Hong Kong action directors, including Dong Wei, Stanley Tong, Tsui Hark and Sammo Hung. In 1982, Sam joined Jackie Chan’s JC Group as an action choreographer. In year 1994, 1999 and 2001, Sam choreographed, as well as performed in Andy Lau’s concert. In year 1995, Sam had a chance to work with Hollywood when he emerged as Jean Claude Van Dam’s personal action choreographer and consultant in director Tsui Hark’s “Double Team”. In 2001, the multi-talented Sam was involved in “Continue to Dance” (a.k.a. Give Them a Chance) as a producer, story, dance and action choreographer. He was nominated for Best Action Choreography in Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards for the film. Sam first appeared as an action director in Japanese movie “Muscle Heart”. In 2003, Sam even emerged as the leading actor, as well as choreographed the action scenes for the Chinese drama “Yu Qian Si Bao”. About The Cast Harisu Lee Kyung-Eun (popularly known as Harisu), is a singer, TV star and actress from South Korea. Her stage name is a Korean adaptation of the phrase "hot issue". Lee was born in Seongnam, near Seoul. In 1997-98, she moved to Japan. While there, she had sex reassignment surgery and began studying to become a hairdresser. She also began singing in Japanese clubs. It was while singing in Japan that she got her first break, being recruited by an agent in 1999. In 2001, she formally changed her name to Harisu, just before featuring in an advertisement for Korean cosmetics company DoDo. It turned out to be a huge success and ended up launching her international superstar career. Since then, Harisu has branched out into music and acting, among other fields. She has recorded two solo Mandarin albums, switching between techno music and rhythm and blues. In 2001, she starred in the film Yellow Hair 2, for which she also recorded the soundtrack. Harisu has also had brief forays into other areas — having danced in a video clip for the group 'Turbo', as well as having written a book/photo-essay about herself in 2004. Harisu made her first Chinese feature film debut in 2004, as the lead actress in acclaimed Film Director Yeung Fan’s Colour Blossoms. In POSSESSED, Harisu carries the role as Amber’s elder sister, Lisu who comes back to haunt and torment those that were involved in her brutal murder. This is Harisu’s first role as a woman and a ghost. Amber Chia Amber Chia, currently appearing in a number of international print ads for Guess watches, was selected by George Marciano himself to be co-winner in the international Guess Timeless Beauty competition. Ever since she clinched the title at Basel, Switzerland, Amber has become one of the most sought-after models in Malaysia and the region. 2006 is a pivotal year for her with as she has not just graced countless magazine covers and sashayed on numerous international fashion runways but also moved on into acting. POSSESSED is her second feature film after the critically acclaimed film, 3rd Generation. POSSESSED is a major breakthrough for Amber as she went through a transformation both physically and mentally to carry the role of the disturbed and emotionally charged leading lady. In contrast to her always immaculate look as a supermodel, she had to undergo hours of make-up daily to make her look ghastly and frightening for her “possessed” scenes. Amber also insisted on performing all her own stunts including the high tension wire stunts which caused her to suffer a number of injuries. In POSSESSED, Amber plays a famous model that is possessed by her sister, Lisu who was brutally murdered. Alan Yun Alan Yun received his first commercial break being a talent on a Rejoice television commercial back in 1999. A model since 15 years old, Alan recalls the first time he got his picture published in the newspapers where he was wrapped in bandages, looking forlorn – the ad read: Jangan Main Dengan Mercun (Don’t play with firecrackers). In 1999, Yun also recorded a Mandarin album from which the single Flying with the Rhythm received heavy airplay by Malaysian and Singapore radio stations. Alan is now one of the most sought after commercial talents and actors in Malaysia being involved in various feature film and TV productions. Alan most recently played the lead for the critically acclaimed Yasmin Ahmad feature film, Gubra, which won the Best Film Award at the 2006 19th Malaysia Film Festival. In POSSESSED, Alan plays Dino, Amber’s boyfriend and manager who develops feelings for his personal assistant, Belle while Amber is away seeking treatment in China. Steve Yap An established model that has made his mark in Malaysia and Singapore, Steve is most recognized as the face that fronted the Pensonic commercial. Well versed in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, this well built hunk has expanded his career regionally in Hong Kong, Malaysia & Singapore. Yap had his brush with international fame in the highly popular Hong Kong series, “I Have a Date with the Vampire II” has hosted several beauty pageants and travelogues. An adventurer by heart, Steve is usually conquering physical activities like rock-climbing, skydiving, scuba diving and trekking when he’s not conquering film screens. Steve plays Lisu’s loving boyfriend, William who had an affair with Amber. William attempted to work out on the relationship with Lisu after she found out about the affair but was unsuccessful and leaves Malaysia after Lisu’s disappearance. Sharifah Amani Sharifah is of Malay-Chinese-Arab-Bengali parentage and speaks fluent English, Malay and some Hindi. She is passionate about acting and films, Hindi films in particular. Sharifah won the Most Promising Newcomer Award at the 18th Malaysian Film Festival for her leading role as Orked in “Sepet”, which is directed by Yasmin Ahmad. A year later, she won the Best Actress Award in the 19th Malaysian Film Festival for the sequel to “Sepet”, “Gubra”. As a teen writer for the NST’s YouthQuake, Amani covered assignments like the Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla press conference, concerts by Bollywood stars, Deep Purple and the 1st IIFA awards on Genting Highlands. Sharifah has also dabbled in theatre, having acted as Ophelia in Actors Studio’s Hamlet, 2005, directed by Faridah Merican. Sharifah Amani plays Fara, Lisu’s assistant in POSSESSED. Fara is very close to Lisu, and records Lisu’s daily activities in a DV camera. She is the only eye witness to Lisu’s brutal murder but is later admitted to a mental institution due to trauma. Liu Yan Yan Liu Yan Yan is a graduate from the renowned Beijing Film Academy. Liu Yan Yan has acted in a number of TV productions in China. POSSESSED is her feature film debut. In POSSESSED, Liu Yan Yan plays Belle, Dino’s personal assistant. Jealous over Amber’s achievements, Belle fights with Amber over Dino to spite her. Manolet Popularly known as Manolet in The Philippines, Garcia is an acclaimed TV host. Having graduated from University of The Philippines, Garcia is currently a professor in De La Salle University College of Saint Benilde under the School of Design and Arts. Manolet plays an obsessed Amber fan that harasses her in POSSESSED. Smyth Wong Smyth Wong is a graduate from LaSalle-DHU International Design College and had his acting debut in the first Sarawak film, The Legend of the Red Curse. Smyth plays Cisse, Amber’s “babysitter” and make up assistant in POSSESSED.
